For a large crowd, double the recipe.

How to make the perfect Pimm’s Cup

Use high-quality, fizzy Lemonade. Too acidic lemonades can ruin the taste.

Replace the Pimm’s spirit with another brand of fruit-flavored spirits. They will bring their flavors but not the classic Pimms.

To avoid overwhelming the Pimms’ flavor, keep the ratios at one part and three parts lemonade.

Ingredients

Fill the jug with Ice

6 3/4 ounces (200 milliliters) Pimm’s No 1

20 ounces (600 milliliters) carbonated Lemonade, chilled

One sprig of fresh mint

One small cucumber, sliced (peel left on)

One medium orange, sliced

1/2 cup strawberries, hulled and halved

How to Make it

In a pitcher, combine the Pimms and the Lemonade.

Add the strawberries, cucumber, orange, and mint to the pitcher after lightly crushing it to release its scent. Add two slices of cucumber for every orange or strawberry. You can add more or less to your taste.

Serve in tall glasses filled with ice and stir with a long-handled spoon.

For a spicy drink, substitute ginger ale for sparkling Lemonade.

To make a Pimm’s Cup that is less sweet and highlights the flavor in the Pimm No. Use soda water in place of sparkling Lemonade.
